Wait what battery? I contacted Nintendo and they said I'd probably have to send it in, so yeah...$93 if nothing else works. |
Is it always $93 to send in a Wii U?
If it is then fuck that, I'll just get the damn special screwdriver to open it and replace the fan myself. This is the sort of shit that makes me hate consoles until I cool off and immediately revert back to loving them.

Same problem…different fix to those seen elsewhere.
Red flashing light. Tried all the above. No luck.
I took the little backup battery out then did a reboot.
Success.
Ps: battery requires you to unscrew the small panel on the side.

It sounds like a lot of users are having success by removing the battery because it might be dead or faulty.
Or you could try blowing into the fan if you notice a lot of dust on the fan. Or use a blow dryer on high. So it's most likely a battery issue, dust issue, or motherboard issue. If you try the latter 2 and nothing works, you might have to send it to Nintendo. If it's still under warranty you can get it fixed for free. Hope you can get it working.
