I have absolutely no problem with people liking the game if they accept it for what it is. God knows we all like a little cheese with our wine. What I don't like is people trying to play up kitsch as fine art.

One order of cheese please, hold the whine.

Seriously, this is one of the reasons I loved the Skies of Arcadia storyline.  I didn't expect it to be anything more than it was.  It was a colorful adventure with air pirates.  That was what I expected and that was what I got.  The biggest treat was that the main character was neither emo nor angsty nor stupid.  I'd almost forgotten what it was like to play a competent main character in an RPG.
