May

- Kirby failed me again, both Uncharted 4 and Dragon Quest Heroes II on PS4 performed better than expected, though Kirby still did alright anyway, as a whole Dragon Quest Heroes II did much better than anticipated. Apart from that, Overwatch had a decent debut, Konami's baseball game kept a good pace, and more importantly, both Minecraft Vita and Splatoon keep going, Splatoon top this chart exactly one year ago, and it's still on the chart.

- This May was a vast improvement over last May (the worst month ever) with very positive results on both hardware and software fronts, with the PS4 leading the the way on both parts, PS4 is now over 50% YoY on software charts and it's finally up YoY on hardware side, with the Vita being the second best performer comparing to last year. PS4 is also gaining a healthy lead over the New 3DS LL, however with it's barren line up until Tales of Berseria it may not keep it.

What to expect next month?

June's best selling game should be Ace Attorney 6 with the new Taiko on 3DS following suit; Kirby, Splatoon and Minecraft Vita should continue on the chart. There's also a new New 3DS SKU releasing so it may be the best selling system for the month, though its safest to bet on PS4.

An interesting milestone is happening for WiiU as the last two scheduled releases for the year are both coming out on June, on the same day, Mario & FlopSonic and more importantly the retail release of Minecraft. Expect Mario & Sonic to sell poorly (if it even charts) , Minecraft won't have an explosive debut either, don't expect much from it.

When anticipaing sales of Minecraft on WiiU, don't look at the sales of Minecraft on Vita, how it's selling on PS4 is a much more apt comparison.
