The Xbox Slim will likely give that system a decent boost, just going by last generation. Of course, that will also depend upon price, but it seems that Slim consoles lead to a lot of double-dipping. Didn't they announce the PS3 slim and price drop at E3? 

I think both the Slim announcement (and subsequent drop to $299) and later drop to $249 were announced at Gamescom.
