OK, let me see if I understand this:  So am I going to ask my 3yr old daughter if I should buy a dress or a pair of pants for her to wear?

Or when we go into a public bathroom I'll just say:  "honey, just get into wherever you feel more comfortable"

Or I'll say to my 3 YEARS OLD child:  "Honey, we just don't know if you are a man or a woman just yet, you will get to decide that"

You really don't see nothing wrong in that scenario?

Wow. I'm referring to when the child goes through puberty. Not quite sure why you're jumping to conclusions about a three year old choosing bathroom..

The sentiment likely stems from the "Die Cis Scum" movement from Tumblr, where Tumblrfucks were disgusted that people's genders are chosen at birth. I think there's a ton of confusion in this thread regarding that.

That said, a parent can't choose something personal like that for their child after they develop their own sense of self... But I think a default is necessary. I will raise my daughter as a girl until she decides to be a tomboy, or a priss, or a lesbian, or whatever she decides. Because kids need that structured aspect of their life. And when they decide to alter their identity, that needs to be structured as well.
