If people really want this tournament to happen it can still be organized. You can't expect people to sign up for a tournament when they do not like the rules though. Those of us who critisized the rules list did so because we were misled into believing that it was wanted and useful. When you ask for suggestions you should expect suggestions. The stage list had a lot of problems, and some people were trying to make it better. TGM apparently thinks that means we can't stand tournament rules when we were pushing for more even enforcement of tournament rules.
