Paper Mario changed because of him and his quest to make the series "different" from past iterations. The wii u's hardware was largely influenced by his desire to be "different" (third parties clearly didn't like it and now ALL of them are gone). |
Miyamoto had at least an influence in most of these projects. He wasn't a director for SF0 (just producer) or Guard either. He was the producer of Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon by the way.
im just saying reception wise, SF0 was mixed. Some people like it, some don't. It reflects upon the scores and the various comments made whether it's here, YouTube, Twitter, etc.Sales-wise, it's unfortunate considering, in my opinion, it's not a bad game. We probably won't see another entry for while, but who knows considering a lot of their games didn't particularly sold like hot cakes like Woolly World, Tropical Freeze, etc. Sure they sold a million, when you consider their predecessors' sales, it's disappointing. Granted being on the Wii U is a factor.
And as someone mentioned previously, Miyamoto was not really the guy behind the Wii U, Iwata was. The Wii U was his just as the Wii, DS, and 3DS were. Not trying to put all the blame on Iwata (God rest his soul), just pointing it out. Miyamoto had to help make the game pad a selling point, which ultimately didn't work.
