I believe they lost their touch.  The market may have changed but they didn't change with it.  Look at ps4 beasting.  That could have been their home console.  Overtime they've slowly been losing their touch.  They thought outside the box for the Wii and rediscovered it but lost it again straight away.  

If we talk about "Nintendo touch" it was always about great games, while their hardware always was mixed bag, so nothing really changed, they didn't lose nothing, they just failed with Wii U.
