noun  gen·der ˈjen-dər
Popularity: Top 1% of lookups

Definition of gender

  1. 1a :  a subclass within a grammatical class (as noun, pronoun, adjective, or verb) of a language that is partly arbitrary but also partly based on distinguishable characteristics (as shape, social rank, manner of existence, or sex) and that determines agreement with and selection of other words or grammatical formsb :  membership of a word or a grammatical form in such a subclassc :  an inflectional form showing membership in such a subclass

  2. 2a :  sex gender>b :  the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex

  3. Webster. It's your sex, and the behavior associated with it. You can exhibit gender behaviors of the opposite sex, but your gender (in this sense, your sex) is still the one you were born with. Acting like a girl doesn't make your gender female, because referring to one's gender is to refer to their sex; not their gendered behaviors.

You're mixing up terms left and right. It's become quite obvious this is a subject you're having a hard time trying to understand. I'd kindly suggest you get some more education and read about this so you don't seem like an ignorant bigot spreding hate about something you barely know anything at all. But that's just me.

The only thing that's clear is there are a bunch of people out there trying to make Gender more difficult than it needs to be. It is in relation to sex, or otherwise it is descriptive of behaviors based on sex. The problem is now a bunch of special snowflakes are undermining actual transgenders by pretending to be transgender and forcing a their desired answers out of questions that were never asked.

I converse with transgenders on a daily basis, as where I live happens to be the only blue haven in an otherwise red desert for many many miles. I've also grown up with several people who either had a full sex change or seriously considered it for a long time. And you know what none of them have any issue with? The actual term "gender". They understand what it is, and what it means. They understand that they can identify as a female, though their biological gender is male. They understand that even though they live as a man, when they renew their drivers license they claim a female gender.

Because when someone asks you your gender, they're not asking you how you feel about your gender. They're asking if you're male or female. It's a legitimately disturbing notion that we can go to the moon, but we stumble over whether or not my newborn child's genitalia means he's a boy. Oh, sorry, we don't stumble; we Tumbl.

And implying someone is an ignorant bigot, regardless of the way you try to phrase it, is both flaming and trolling. It's more or less asking me to take off the gloves and get into a "Who can get the other banned first" competition, and I refuse to get personal with you.
