I kept hearing it the other day, and I'm hoping it's not the case, but when you consider this gen he's made huge mistakes like Paper Mario Sticker Star and Star Fox Zero, maybe it's time Shigeru Miyomoto retired.

Did he have anything to do with Paper Mario Sticker Star other than having the Producer label? Anyway, I don't think he should retire. I think he should stay away from big budget projects. I think where Miyamoto is best is when coming up with ideas for gameplay and design and focusing on those ideas without getting distracted by complex stories and overblown conematics. He's good at keeping developers focused.

Although he had nothing to do with Resident Evil, I think this analogy I'm about to make sums up Miyamoto best. Resident Evil 4 is a very Miyamoto-style game. The focus was to fix the things that needed to be fixed while keeping what works.Gameplay was the core focus. It is an extrememly focused game where cutscenes are never too long and are only there for leading the play from one scenario to the next. Resident Evil 6 on the other hand is the exact opposite of a Miyamoto game. It is exrememly overbloated and unfocused. It does notihng better than everything else while doing everytihng worse. It also doesn't know what kind if game it wants to be.
