Not according to http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Fox_Zero/credits

SF0 had two directors, neither of which being Miyamoto, with Miyamoto as supervising director (I have no clue what that means).

Miyamoto HIMSELF said he was the director of Star Fox Zero and did with the game what he wanted:

Miyamoto: Well, I am credited as both producer and supervising director, and I’d say that what I did was pretty close to working as a director.

Sao: But when you play the game, you can tell that you really enjoyed working on it.

Miyamoto: Right. That’s because I just did whatever I wanted! (laughs)

I am 100% sure the other director(s) were forced to listen to Miyamoto. Platinum Games would never make such poor control decisions. Why would he lie about his role in SF0 in the first place?

"I’d say that what I did was pretty close to working as a director."

This is not equivalent to being director.
