Something similar happened in the US in a Zoo in 1996 in that indecent a female gorilla actually carried the kid to safety.

Even though gorillas are the strongest out of the great apes they are actually pretty harmless since they are primarily herbivores. Chimpanzees are a lot more dangerous since they regularly also consume meat and they hunt other mammals in the wild.
