PS I'm a Muslim Asian and it's a rare thing for women in our culture to accept these things and then for her family to do the same.
She bought her own engagement ring, she paid towards the grooms side of the wedding day too and her sisters paid for the honeymoon. She also accepted having a smaller wedding (we only had about 350 people at the wedding).
