| 1337 Gamer said: Good then stick with 7. No one is ultimately going to force you to upgrade. But you buying an operating system does not entitle you to updates indefinitely. Microsoft generally gives an EXTREMELY generous 7 - 10 year period of gradually decreasing updates. This same shit happens every time a new windows comes out. No matter how good it is (and myself and many tech experts agree EVERY version if windows has been better than its previous iteration. If not by immediately then atleast by the time service pack 1 is released) but a very vocal minority bitch and moan about how it sucks and what they had was better. and yet EVERY time people eventually come around. Holdouts such as yourself certainly shouldnt hold progress back. Might as well accept the inevitable and start getting used to linux. I hope your pretty damn tech savvy.
More than anything I want to see developers really push directX 12 and climb on board. The sooner everyone upgrades the faster they will be forced to do so. So many people here talk so much shit about Windows 10 but its great. Have you even honestly given windows 10 a try? I VERY seriously doubt it and if you didnt like it please give a real reason as to why windows 7 is so much better?
So many people bitch about customizibility and having complete control over your system. Please name 1 damned feature or optionm that you use that you are unable to gain control of and access? While a few of the deeper options in windows 10 took me a little while to find i did so and now my system runs amazing. Libraries and indexing are SOOO much faster, the UI is much prettier and more functional, Direct X 12, Edge Browser, improved NVME support and the list goes on and on. Windows 7 is obsolete and dated.
So please tell me why windows 10 is so bad? And dont just say I dont need it or what i have is good enough. That isnt a valid excuse to stick your head in the sand and ignore progress. Or if you do dont complain when you get left by the wayside.
Edit: Im sorry if im coming off as hostile. Its just that the hate that windows 10 gets is absolutely mindblowing. Any person that has actually put in more than a few minutes into learning the ins and outs of the new system all have positive things to say. is windows 10 perfect? No absolutely not, but its infinitely more modern and faster than Windows 7. Absolutely no one who has really given it a whirl would disagree. Most of peoples complaints are just stuff they heard on the internet and not representative of their true experiences with the system. Seriously give it a try. Go through and customize it to your liking and use it for a week, and then come back and tell me that windows 7 is better. |
I have my own free will and choices, to call them shit or tripe is extremely arrogant and juvenile at best. If you choose to understand those who arne't on the other side of the fence then we as a whole can get along much better, especially for the other billions of folk out there who still haven't gone with 10 and instead go with legacy software and other OS's.
The world doesn't revolve around MS and neither do we, the fact that there are a multitude of different OS's and people still using older OS's proves that MS still isn't doing the right thing or grabbing say 6 billion out of 7 on the planet all at once. I chose to stick with 7 because I strongly feel that MS doesn't care about me nor what I want out of an OS and so far the data on the other side as well as users are showing this to me. Just because I don't like what you like means I'm a vile hater that needs to adhere to the OS, it just means MS hasn't grabbed me and has to work to get me back, that's the point of getting me on board is to get me to get their OS, that has failed and it still is failing which of course has led to "what don't you like about it" crowd coming to do their work for them (no offense but every time that crowd pops up, it's always, always going to involve them not seeing where you are coming from let alone allowing you to stand where you are).
I'm honestly not bothered about update support from them as I'm not someone who just stumbles upon viruses or backdoors every waking day, I take very good care of my rig and the software/OS within. Once devs stop creating titles that support 7-8.1, I'll simply be moving to an OS that takes my fancy and out of the many distros of Linux including Steam OS, I have actual choices instead of Windows or bust.
I don't think I want to go through the rigmarole of explaining why I don't like 10 nor MS at this moment in time because 9/10 you're very likely to suggest fluff and invalidated reasoning, that is to say that I'm on the "wrong" side of the fence until I skip to 10, because lets be honest here, nothing so far gives reason for a 10 user to allow other folk on different OS's to let be, whether it be through debates like this or "it's the best objectively"moments right up until someone dares say different and then the cycle repeats itself.
Also for the record I have tried 10, multiple times in fact along with having to deal with it each time my step dad calls me over to tutor him on using his win 10 laptop, not even the best of times to teach someone like him who knows so little about PC's and yet gets frustrated when the simple OS doesn't allow him to do what he sets out to do unless I show him, that wasn't the issues with the previous win 7 laptop he had some years ago either. My own mother is a self confessed Luddite, I imagine her being pissed to find she'd been forced to upgrade to an OS she never wanted (because she doesn't want anything forced on her peroid).
In the end I still firmly believe that 7 is better for me for both my gaming and every day usage, it does what I want when I want it to and it boots up just fine and speedy along with supporting all of my games just fine. 10 is just not what I'm looking for nor want in an OS, if anything Steam OS is something I'd like more of along with universal OS support with an API like Vulkan which by the way supports windows 10 as well as 7-8.1 and other OS's. It's better to have more choices and venues than it is to have only one.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
