I believe Nintendo is entering this console with a very different demeanor than the one they had trotting out the Wii U. At the very least, they're citing lessons learned from the Wii U launch... hopefully that lesson wasn't "the system needs TWO gamepads".

I kind of think you're right but I don't think the result is going to be more AAA type games.  I think quantity is going to increase but mostly in the area of games that you might see in web browers, on handhelds, or on smartphones.  Now, because it's Nintendo, I don't think it's going to be like Flappy Bird level, but it's going to be more like Monster Strike than Mario Galaxy.  That's what the Japanese market wants.
