Uncharted 4 is a more intimate affair. Setpiece scale has been toned down for a more believable story, but the Madagascar chase in particular is easily the most technically impressive, interactive, and just plain fun of the series. Like 2 before it, there is now a better balance between such moments and the storytelling, only this time with much more substance and nuance to the writing. If you really found its story basic, I can't imagine what you thought of previous entries. And repetitive? Fucking what? That's entirely on you if you're serious, because the series gameplay has never been more varied.
