The Vita has steady sales, enough support from japanese 3rd parties and indies to keep its niche audience happy, and I'm sure it at least makes enough profit to keep around (at least until Sony decides to make a Vita emulator on the PS4 or PS Now, or something like that). The WiiU definitively has the bigger games, but without support from anyone else, the moment the NX comes around the console is going to be completely abandoned by everyone. So Vita will last longer. At the very least it will last until Nintendo's next handheld arrives and steals the show in Japan.
