Well, as is being discussed, it depends on how 'sport' is defined.

The International Olympic Committiee considers chess a sport. Fishing is considered a sport. Cup stacking is considered a sport.

I would bet money that many professional gamers burn more calories in a tournament then the people in any of those sports.
