Depends how sport is defined. If it is defined as needing some kind of physical strength or athleticism, then no it's not a sport. But since the international sports organisations classify non-physical contests as sports (chess for example) as "mind-sports" then from an official definitional perspective I don't see how anyone can argue that e-sports aren't sports. Individuals have their own perspective of what is and isn't a sport in their mind, but when it comes to international recognition you have to establish objective criteria and test things against those crieteria.
