I had a friend in college who used to live in a black-majority neighborhood in Maryland and she got a lot of flack because she talked 'white' and wasn't 'black' enough.

Well that doesn't surprise me, though often that happens subconciously. We have some white students at this school, but they have kind of adapted the way people in this community act and talk.
