FF7 v Ocarina? Buy a vowel ffs. Edit: To be fair, FF7 might hold up better today than OoT. I don't know because I'd never waste my time playing a Final Fantasy game. How have the past 10 FFs been? |
Graphically ffvii holds up MUCH worse than Ocarina of Time, muchhh. They are both still very repayable game play wise though, although very different. Its actually funny to think that at the time the PS1 was heralded as having better looking games (mostly due to disk space, cut scenes, game length, ) and now its quite clear that a lot of N64 games have aged MUCH better aesthetically than the competition. OoT and Rogue Squadron look solid
I disagree with the OP though, a subscription based thing makes zero sense. Its not as if Nintendo has proved having mobile apps, and they dont have shows or games that support that really.
I think Nintendo will keep it nice and simple. An NX home console and an NX handheld- with a shared integrated library that scales graphically depending on what system you play the game on. Or NO scaling at all and simply you'll be able to play the handheld NX games through your account on the home console and possibly not vice versa.
Regardless, my guess is the key will be a shared library via your account in one fashion or another. Which is a great idea and certainly could incentivizeee Nintendo's larger handheld fan base to get on board and buy the home console. If one thing has been clear in the last gen, its that Nintendo still has and extremely solid handheld fanbasd. Their next strategy surely must be combining both wings so their software output becomes easier and more streamlined
