Wii vs Wii U is interesting I guess.

Hardware

Wii U > Wii (Wii U was a good sized upgrade even if it was still competitively outdated), Wii was a repackaged GameCube basically.

Software

Splatoon > anything new on the Wii
Mario Kart 8 > Mario Kart Wii
Bayonetta 2 = Metroid Prime 3 (the token Nintendo "hardcore" title).
NSMBU > NSMB Wii
Nintendo Land > Wii Sports/Fit (Sports/Fit might be more casual, but NL is the better overall game).
Xenoblade X < Xenoblade Chronicles
Mario 3D World < SMG 1&2
AC Amiibo Fesitval < AC City Folk
Smash U > Smash Wii
DKC: Tropical Freeze > DKC Returns
Mario Maker > any remaining major Wii title

Misc. Nintendo IP ...

Captain Toad + Yoshi's Wooly World + Star Fox 0 + Devil's Third + Pikmin 3 + Wonderful 101, LEGO City
vs
Kirby's Epic Yarn, The Last Story, Excite Truck, Punch-Out!, Endless Ocean 1/2, Sin & Punishment

That's pretty close, I'd say Wii has a small edge here, but Pikmin 3 is probably the best game of that bunch.

I think whether one is satisfied is less about having the best game in franchise (and which are better is mostly opinion in some cases), but more about having a lot of different games and a constant stream of them, and Wii undeniably wins there. I mean Wii had Zelda, Metroid, and Mario all in it's first year with plenty of games inbetween. Wii U still doesn't have Zelda and will never have Metroid, that right there says it all. No real Fire Emblem, Kirby, Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, Mario Strikers, and so ons either while we're at it.

This. The Wii was treated like a real Nintendo homeconsole.
