The problem for me was that the amazing set pieces in 3 failed to impress me because they were all spoiled by their own reveals and trailers.
Story-wise it had huge tacked on sections that didn't drive the plot at all but were only there to provide for another set piece showcase.
Also it felt liked it lacked the storytelling to present all the character motivations accordingly.
It still had it's moments though.
