It's probably Shakespeare compared to XY.

Maybe but at least gen 5 has a pretty good story compared to The other gens/fates.   :)

I disagree.

I think the story in BW is only praised because of the goal of the team being a philosophical one and because of N. There was no difference in story telling at all. N never said anything interesting about the ethics of Pokemon battling. No one on the other side ever said anything to validate Pokemon battling. Team Plasma was just as mindless as any other team. Ghetsis was predictably one note. There was absolutely no tension in the final clash. Truth vs. ideals where supposed to be the major themes of the game, and they are literally never explored or even addressed what-so-ever outside of being a name drop. Zekrom represents ideals? Okay. What does that even mean? If truth and ideals are such opposing ideologies, ones so different that they required an entire final battle dedicated to them, why is N exactly the same character in both Black and White with the same goals and the same solutions to those goals when the very nature of the Pokemon he champions in each version is supposed to strongly go for one or the other. The only semblance of these themes are found in the characters of Cheren (truth) and Bianca (ideals), and that is never even remotely explored at all, making it come off as a coincidence rather than an actual intelligent bit of theming. What does truth or ideals have to do with the ethics of catching and training Pokemon anyway? It doesn't matter, because BW never explain it. If Cheren is truth and Bianca is ideals, shouldn't the player be neutral? Why is Kyrurem just super saiyan truth/idea? Or did people just gloss over that stupidity because the formes look cool?

It was better than XY because XY was garbage, but nothing in it even remotely outdid the story telling in DPPt, which wasn't even remarkable, but was at least more functional and didn't trip over itself by bringing up philosophical issues it wasn't even remotely equipped to tackle. N wasn't an interesting character. He never said anything thought provoking and he said never anything to give the impression that he had any sort of personality at all that wasn't one dimentional.

BW's story is so overrated. It's nothing even remotely close to being the good Pokemon story, let alone the best.
