SE can still make a PS4K version, but they can't sell it standalone as in "even if you bought the PS4 version and you upgraded to a PS4K, you need to buy the PS4K version of the game to get the better graphics!"

Yeah, I don't really see a free patch for the game happening. Not with todays publishers at least.

Probably more likely they'll release a GOTY edition or something with an enhanced PS4K version. Shouldn't be against Sony's rule either since the GOTY version would be playable on the original PS4 as well, just with less resolution or whatever.

That seems very much like something that would be against Sony's rules.

 

SE wouldn't do it for nothing, they would do it for more sales. If they are gonna release it on PC, they'll already have to develop it for higher specs, so they'd be stupid not to also make a PS4K version. People with a brand new PS4K would want games that showcase that extra hardware power, right?
