Did sony dodge piracy with the ps3?

you can't "dodge" piracy

the wii used older tech, it was cracked essentially upon release. there are now multiple modchips for each iteration.

the 360 used pretty modern tech, but it was cracked within a year (forget the exact timeframe). people resist modding them because of the fear of being banned from xbl.

the ps3 used expensive tech, and it still isn't cracked. all they did by using expensive tech was buy themselves time. they are delaying the inevitable but who knows it could be worth it.
