Mistake With Satire Washington Post Uncharted 4 Review Sinks Its Metascore
There has been non-stop praise across the board for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and now today, the game has received its first negative review... Sort of. It's a satire review from Michael Thomsen of the Washington Post, but Metacritic.com seems to believe it's real and now its affecting the game's Metascore.
From May 5th, when reviews first started flooding in, Naughty Dog's latest entry in the Uncharted series was sitting pretty with a Metacritic.com "Metascore" review average of 94 out of 100 based on 88 critics... That is, until today. Its 89th review has been posted, apparently coming from Mr.Thomsen of The Washington Post, but there's a twist. This review is for comical purposes only, (known as a comic-riff to viewers of the website) while the real one is nowhere to be found on Metacritic.
The real review awards the game a perfect score - a 4 out of 4. Metacritic links the score back to the satire review and displays a review score of 40 out of 100 - That's low enough to be the game's only "negative" review. A classic mixup? ...One that will likely anger PS4 fanboys and the Naughty Dog developers if it's not fixed.
