they gave SMG an A-

Halo 3 an A

all credibility lost!!

they have 'The Onion' advertisment on their site... not gonna say anything about credibility till i read these reviews but that isnt a good sign.

C+ for GT5:P

"Serious racing games aren't just about putting the pedal to the metal. Much patience, persistence, and precision are needed to master tight turns and shave seconds off your lap time. Newcomers should expect to attack the same race over and over before they get it right."

They're affiliated with The Onion, actually. In print, The Onion is the front and the AV Club, a serious, non-joking review section for various types of culture, is in the back of the newspaper. They're actually fairly well respected and known in the world of film and music criticism.

The main reason GT5:P got a C+:

"All the hyper-realism unravels a bit when players kick the tires. There's no paint traded when racers bump against each other—no damage at all, really. The cars simply, surreally shove each other out of the way. Online, the illusion unravels even more. Slow modems or erratic driving can cause racers to go transparent and pass, ghostlike, through the rest of the pack"

Yes I know it's not mainstream VG reviews, which is why I hesistated to post it here, but the reason I think it has value is precisely because it isn't a mainstream VG review. How many complaints have their been recently about such sites? I agree completely with Rocketpig's editorial from a few weeks ago on the issue. They aren't IGN, and they aren't some random dude's blog. They're serious critics of all types of culture, including video games. But hey, if you personally had to hear of them, then sure, go with mainstream sites.
