Namely that some games ride on their superb visuals and presentation, which masks the quality of the story (and masks other things, such as the quality of gameplay, but this review didn't address that very much). So what was the reality check? First, it's that there actually are legitimate, professional people that have a different opinion, and second, that you have to look beyond the amazing visuals in order to determine the quality of a game and a story. I don't think the review was good, he could definitely have expressed his points better and gone in depth of what he thinks is wrong with Uncharted's story and storytelling. But the motivation was not to troll. To seek attention, definitely yes, he knew that would come, but his main driver I think was to come off as sophisticated, like a movie reviewer sophisticated, and to come off as edgy. |
I'm sorry but if you're trying to defend this guy you're as much of a joke as him. He legit reviewed a game by watching a video on youtube instead of playing it.
