Remember, Nintendo is going to do a deal for a custom chip based on polaris, they are not going to put a normal polaris gpu on the nx. My bet, it's going to be a $400 console or less if they find a way to sell a powerful console for $300.

I know that, and that is what I am hoping for. The chip is new and top of the line for a console. At $299... it will be very mediocre. Great for a console, but out dated out the door. On the brightside. The Jaguar APU in the PS4 and Xbox One were far more outdated during it's release.

Kimishima did hint that the console will cost more than past Nintendo consoles. I believe he used the wording of "current conditions". Though it is most likely that he was talking about economic conditions, rather than the affordability for the consumer. At this rate... it can go either way. The only realistic guess at this rate is the mid-ranged chip, which will be very powerful for a console from any perspective. They would shoot themselves in the foot with a low end chip, yet also little risky to go with a high end chip. Developers can only utilise so much with the PS4 and Xbox One, but first party titles will look phenomenal. Then poses the problem that Nintendo will once again vastly outshine the 3rd parties on its own console.
