Is Nintendo best suited to making a console MMO?

I myself would prefer a new IP, as even Nintendo could screw up a good series formula if the MMO isn't true to the nature of the series. A new IP also wouldn't have to accomodate any lineage, gameplay problems or any other hurdles and can just concentrate on making one hell of a game.
