When I was in like 5 or 6th grade there was this kid that would only use his starter throughout the whole game and it annoyed the crap out of me XD. 

I always do that. I level my starter only. Use the rest as HM slaves. Use my money towards Balls and full restores. Till I clear the game. I only tackle the Pokedex, and proper leveling. After that's done.
