People aren't Against subtle innovations which evolve the idea of the controller which is what Nintendo controls prior to the Wii had.
A $100 gimmick control which takes away buttons or ruins form factor is an issue though. When rumour of rolling shoulder buttons appeared everyone seemed on board with specific change.
