It's really just corporations and the like of the Koch brothers, who happen to own a bunch of energy companies, using the uneducated and the faith base to cause controversy so they will not get regulations on their industry.
It’s sort of like how the Kings of old would use the church and the faithful say ‘God has given them a divine right to rule and you are bad if you question it and against God.’ It’s the same thing in a different package.
