And if we go with that example of having worked on something ebfore, MS has done the same when it comes to DX and look at how 12 is (not) working out. Again these things take time and if we're more than willing to give MS the benefit of the doubt when it comes to UWP, DX 12, W10 then I'm sure we could do the same for a single OS from Valve.

Well, if we compair apples to apple DirectX 12 offers at least a 20% improvement over DX11, and sometimes a 300% improvement.  At best SteamOS hasn't been able to achieve anythign beter than 20% worse, on their own games, yet.  So even at the best case senario it's has a long way to go.



 

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
