I'd have to say no. I say most people have fairly exaggerated the controls and have used that as an excuse to hate on it really.
Now the controls aren't perfect. I personally gave this game a 7.5 due to controls such as when I first played as the chicken, i didnt grasp it right away and same with the tank, didnt grasp it right away. The arwing/cockpit view i got immediately and it was easy to control.
I didnt get used to the full controls of everything till the end of the game, so i decided to try it a second time and breeze through the game without any trouble with the controls,second playthrough I bumped up my review score to 8.5. Controls felt better but there was some clunkyness that needed to be fixed.
I think they need to make a more original star fox next time, this was a good one,but people are looking for the NEXT adventure in the star fox universe
