I would take a Link/Sheikah transformation over a female playable Link, any day. Having a female Link will destroy Link's potency as a mascot and he will no longer be able to stand alongside Mario and Samus since Nintendo will now have to include both the male and female version in their adverts to avoid the ire of being called "sexist." Furthermore, having an actual transformation to a new character seems like a legitimate plot device and not just a sellout to SJWs. I hope that this hypothesis for Zelda U ends up being correct.
