ROM is outdated way of thinking
They should be aiming for hybrid carts that have Read only space say 64gb and write space. This write space could be used for patches and updates.
Imagine the benefits
- Patches backed up on the cart, no tedious backup process required. Also the patches would be there for life so no fear of needing to redownload them and worry if they will be available in the future.
- No installs / uninstalls and reinstalls.
- No requirement to keep upgrading the console space the more games you get.
- Can plug it into any console with the updates on it, so when a console dies who gives a shit, u use it on another.
