I don't believe that it is US
For me is to benefit from western education and then go to a country that is growing like maybe China, Brazil, India. Honestly maybe I am wrong but I think that countries like US are already too mature to really promote social ascension. In this kind of country is manly about rich peopole getting richer.
Regarding Switzerland maybe you will get "rich" compared to a french guy or italian but it just a lie because cost of living is ve3ry high. A simple swiss secretary win more money that a boss in France but has to spend more to have the same level of life.
I am from Geneva and and what I can say is that because it is small city often people know eachother so usualy rich people help sons of their rich friends and it is more difficult to rise socially when your father is a delivery man than a doctor.
