And the peripheral really produced some great series in Kinect Sports and Dance Central. However, the community as a whole is certainly not active enough to justify producing motion based games that wont sell (with the exception of the afore mentioned series). Theres nothing wrong with Kinect, its just the core gaming community doesn't want it. But owning an Xbox One without Kinect is just silly. |
You know what's not silly though? Owning a Kinect without a Xbox.
I agree that the technology was interesting, and i'm pretty sure a big part of it's sales success was that it was bought because it could be easily hacked to be used as a cheap motion capture device for a lot of different applications beyond the Xbox. I have even seen them used in German amusement parks with virtual video walls.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
