The US really needs to deal with this fact that science has become bi-partisan. This isn't really true in Europe. Both Left and Right-wing parties generally have the same attitude to scientists.
It really doesn't help when obvious Left wing people get involved with it though. Kimmel's doing more harm than good. As was Gore.
