They just couldn't hit 720p 30fps on the WiiU - and at a certain point in time they got brutally honest. Should they have been more honest sooner? Absolutely. Could they have actually released the game in a quality state? I for one take them at their word that they tried, and that they couldn't.

I'm glad they didn't release a bad game as well.  But I remember their website having pre-order and limited edition information on their website like there would be no doubt.  Perhaps they should have waited to post these things and seeing the Wii U port as a big challenge perhaps try to make it work then scrap it first.  Oh well... perhaps the silver lining is they learned something from this process.

I think it was more down to the game was going to be built around 7th gen hardware and then got moved onto 8th gen so they always expected the Wii U to run it no problem, then by the time they'd finished with making the game and can't to concentrating on the Wii U build, it was like oh... It doesn't run well anymore.
