If Kimishima started talking about things like chip production problems then the press would go crazy with "Nintendo/AMD having chipset problems with NX!" all over the place and stockholders would start blaming them for choosing a certain chip design and blah, blah, blah ... better to just keep that pandora's box closed. If it turns out the NX chip is 14nm (which we probably won't know until later this year or even next year), then there's a fair chance that was one of the reasons behind the delay because 14nm mass production of high end GPUs is still in its infancy. |
I would add one thing to what Soundwave mentioned, is that if Nintendo don't have final dev kits yet (which likely as AMD is only set to start manufacturing Zen APU's in the second half of this year) then game code can't be tested properly.
