Ever since the investors meeting this site has been flooded with Nintendo NX discussions suggesting reasons for the March 2017 release, theories as to what the NX is, and whatever else. So allow me to clear up everything people have been worried about.

-The NX is going to be a home console, as far as we know. So far some major games are confirmed to be in development (we only know one of them, being Zelda) and there is no way any of them could fit onto a handheld. And all we can confirm right now is that the NX is a home console with a tablet-like controller similar to the gamepad except probably smaller. Anything else has yet to be confirmed. We have no way of knowing it is a hybrid console and it is definitely not a streaming stick.

-The NX product is likely close to being finished. The reason for the 3-month delay was to make sure devs had enough time to finish their games for the launch day. In order to make sure the NX had a good number of launch titles they pushed the release date back. BUT this does mean something else. Nintendo wouldnt even originally schedule it for 2016 if they didnt have a working title, so in addition to the big games, there will likely be other smaller titles. (think Nintendo Land)

-There will likely be no backwards compatibility. This is a huge hardware upgrade for Nintendo and it would be unlikely for them to dedicate time towards backward scompatibility when only 13 million people own Wii U's and the NX is expected to sell at least double that in the first year. (not my words, dont shoot the messenger). But of course, it isnt unlikely for Virtual Console and ports to fill the void by bringing the most popular titles to the NX from past platforms.

-The Wii U is dead. Sorry, but lets be real for a second, Nintendo wants all of their best games ready for the NX and Nintendo does not move backwards. My prediction, which I can tell you has a 99% chance of being true, is that TMS#FE and Color Splash will be the last AAA games for the console. It had a good run, and I am definitely keeping mine even after getting the NX, but its time to wave goodbye.
