I think the massive racing audience of Mario Kart was the legit real reason the WiiU of Project Cars version lived on for so long.

I believe Slightly Mad has been on the record saying they'd try out more powerful Nintendo hardware if/when it came available.

 

It's too bad they dragged Wii U owners through the mud for so long before telling us they weren't releasing a that port.
