Anyway, this was a pretty stupid contest then, if the cut-off point was January 1st, because Q1 in 2017 is closer to 2016 than it is to it's holiday and even still belongs to the previous fiscal year as well. The 2017 crowd didn't win, they got lucky.

 

Let's not forget that before Zelda's release date was moved from 2015 to 2016 it was listed as TBA for the longest time. They must of been waiting until they were certain NX releasing in 2016 was the plan before setting Zelda's date. Plus come on, who the hell plans for their console to release after the holidays and without an E3 appearance. Mimicking PS4/XB1 release strategy was obviously the idea but complications came up and prevented that, and they can't afford to wait another whole year so they just have to release it as soon as it's ready.
