230 million for the first two Play Station consoles between 1994 to now compared N64 and Game Cube 56 million. PS outsold Nintendo in consoles by more than 4 times.
Nintendo fans with the Wii' success will be saying revenge is sweet and will be popping the champagne that has been on ice for many years. |
Wow...this thread is unimaginably pathetic. Revenge would be making a console with the same target audience and stealing all of the PS3's biggest exclusives/multiplats. Kind of like what Sony did to Nintendo with the PSX/PS2 for 10 years. I don't know about you, but I don't see GTA IV, Resident Evil 5, Final Fantasy XIII, Call of Duty 4, Metal Gear Solid 4 etc... on the Wii. They've only managed to get MH:3 which is only popular in Japan. If anything, Nintendo have accepted defeat and moved on to a different target audience. |
I wasn't gonna post in this thread, but you sir, take the cake. Call it a different audience you want, but by the end of this generation the Wii will have the most profit, the most revenue, the most games, the most exclusive games, the most games rated 90+, and the most diverse library of games with original unique control schemes. Sounds like GAMERS are getting GAMES. But if you want to call us non-gamers, feel free to do so. You can't just write off a revolution as irrelevant. |
That is the only one that is just not certain, and probably unlikely. |
Well if you only count exclusives rated 90+, Wii's already ahead. Wii has 3 exclusives over 90: Galaxy, Brawl, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. 360 has 2: Halo 3 and Forza Motorsport 2. I'm sure at some point Halo 3 will come to the PC with better graphics and a lower review score, losing its exclusivity. PS3 has 0. But if you're not counting exclusives, yeah you're porbalby right. But I still think that's just 'cuz reviewers all hate the Wii and the new market. |
I thought that Metroid Prime 3 was at exactly 90%. That's not over 90%, and review scores could change its percentage in a snap.
As for exclusive games over 90%, it's a certainty. Nintendo's skill as a developer is unparallel. And third parties need to make games multiplatform to get the most bang for their buck. Activision wouldn't have gotten as much money if they had only put Call of Duty 4 on the 360, although they would still have made themselves a nifty amount.
