Nintendo put the costs of better specs into a controller with a screen on it. If it just stuck with Wiimotes it would probably be $199 right now.

Probably is needless! Gamepad  worths 80-100$ ( It's the reason why they will never cut the price in order to not sacrfice or abate dramaticalky the profits, or loss if extra costs are still high, but I doubt that, we're in its forth year).  Wii u manufacturing cost without the gamepad is 100- 120$...
