I think going to March won't affect initial launch sales because of the built in fanbase Nintendo has. The concern is after the first month or so will the system fade in the Summer creating concerns about user base quickly.

You mean the small fanbase of 10mil? It took over 3 years for the WiiU to sell that much. March is a horrible launch period since they don't get much support in the U.S/Europe which both regions thrive off the holiday season. VR will still be a huge deal and GOW4 may release further taking attention away from this new console. A September release was their best option with Zelda launching with it and a 3D Mario game by March.
