Reuters is reporting that Kimishima stated that Wii U production ends in March 2018.

That would be the fiscal year ending in March 2018. Hardly a surprise when they project such a low number for the fiscal year ending in March 2017. Production could end sooner if demand flatlines.

The surprise is that they are waiting so long to end the production. They could end now and there would be no difference.
